A powerhouse!

I wore out my previous, smaller Waring blender making very thick, (soft ice cream consistency) smoothies. After shopping around, I returned to the Waring brand and decided on the commercial Xtreme. WOW!! What a powerhouse! Whips up my smoothies in mere seconds and clean-up is a breeze. I love it! Would prefer a glass container option like my other Waring, but so far, the high impact plastic is doing fine.

Noise is the price of so much power

I read all the reviews I could find on this and purchased one not ever wanting to buy another poor quality weak blender. Now more educated on it after having used it I thought I’d add a little info that would have helped me in the decision process. First, this has a soft-start mode which is common on industrial machinery and will greatly prolong the life of the motor. It isnt something you select, it is just how it starts. A soft-start means it takes a brief second to reach full speed. If it didnt there’s enough torque on this to spin it right off the counter. Second, it is designed for food products, but after using it some Ive concluded its strong enough it would probably liquify a cord of wood. Lastly, for comparison, I spend most days inside a shop of industrial cabinet-making machinery. This blender has as much horsepower as half of the equipment in there so the noise this makes is normal for a 3-1/2 hp motor, but its at least as loud as my largest router or shaper. Its a beast. Buy it only if you need this much power and recognize that power comes with a commensurate amount of noise. In a restaurant setting I wouldnt want this near people trying to enjoy a nice meal. But if power is what you need, it’ll damn sure handle it.

For the same amount (~$500) I now have the Xtreeeeeeme and the sound enclosure and I’m good to go at 6

Combined with the sound enclosure, this is the blender for me. It buzzes up my smoothies (pineapple cores and other tougher items are no problem), makes hummus, nut butters, etc. with aplomb.

SECOND PURCHASE – giving first one to my daughter

I bought one of these blenders in July 2011 and have been using it every day since then to make frozen fruit smoothies and milkshakes. I don’t have enough good things to say about it. My college-aged daughter will be moving out soon, so I bought another one. I still have two other daughters, and still need a powerful blender. It’s a real workhorse, easy to clean, not too terribly expensive when you compare it to the price of a Vitamix, and it’s made in the USA.

Originally, I had plans to purchase a Vitamix, but I simply couldn’t get past the Teflon flakes produced by the O-ring; it was a deal breaker for me. Thus, I set about finding a comparable product, minus the PTFE of course. I looked at performance, durability, longevity, price, customer satisfaction, and customer service. I did more than my fair share of research. This blender came out on top. I could not be more pleased with my decision. It quickly and efficiently pulverizes everything I’ve put in it (including whole carrots). It’s simple to use and simple to clean (put soap and water in it and turn it on). I highly recommend this blender.

A beast!

This thing is a beast! Did a ton of research online before buying this thing….blendec, vitamix, optimum and finally settled on this one and I couldn’t be more satisfied. Simple, straightforward operation and raw power combine to give you a blender that can blend pretty much anything to a smooth consistency. I use it for smoothies.Warning! The blades are sharp! It will fit under the counter IF you leave the lid off.

Awesome blender. I have had my first for 10 years now. Works like a charm, almost 4hp makes the vitamix look feeble. Save your money and get the Waring blender.

Wow! This is a GREAT blender!!

This is fantastic!! I actually bought this two speed model and then found the variable speed model for only $22 more so I sent this back and got the variable speed model. This has a 3.5 motor, which I believe may be the most powerful of all blenders. It will turn a full container of ice cubes into snow in about three seconds. No exaggeration. I’ve made soups and smoothies and it handles them with ease. In tests against the Vitamix it blends into a smoother consistency. (I did my homework). Also, the only time I have had to use any sort of ‘tamper’ to push the ingredients down towards the blades is when there was not enough liquid. The blades really do a great job at sucking the food down and grinding it without much, if any, delay or getting hung up. Can’t say enough good things about this blender. Cheaper than the other big name brands and won the side by side comparison with all of them. I also forgot to mention previously that this is a heavy blender and it has rubber type feet that really grip the counter tile and it stays put. Also, while it has a plastic container, (I think Vitamix and Blendtech also have plastic), I have blended hot soups in it and there’s not a problem.

I was a huge fan of Vitamix forever until the motor crapped out on me just after 3 years of use. My mom recommended this commercial waring to me and I didn’t believe that it could be better than a vitamix. When I got it, I was really impressed. It blended my kale and frozen fruit smoothies beautifully and was even a little quieter than the vitamix!
