Best investment I’ve ever made

 on December 26, 2015

Where do I begin? Like most, I’ve seen the infomercials comparing the Nutri-Bullet and the Nutri-Ninja to other blenders, and for the past year I’ve been enjoying the benefits of both Nutri’s, and I was quite satisfied with the results…, for a while, that is until I began experimenting with more exotic combinations of ingredients, like frozen pineapple chunks and Chia seeds, or Flax seeds, or even Black berries and Kale. I became aware of the limitations of these devices, they never really made smoothies, they made sorta an approximation of what a smoothie should be, but could never blend the seeds, greens, or other intems into a true amalgamation of flavors and textures. I was always left with seeds that had to be chewed and bits of greens floating in, and killing my illusion of a smoothie. But they served my nutritional needs, and for the buck, they were ok. Recently I decided to give into my inner cry for a real smoothie machine and sprang for the Vitamix 780. Granted I had to sell my youngest son, wed my 13 year old daughter, indenture myself for 5 years, and surrender my right arm, but believe me when I say it was well worth the investment! With the push of a single button and within a minute or 2, this quiet wonder produced a concoction so smooth and well blended that I was truly taken aback in pure awe at its wonderful texture. I included my normal personal smoothie ingredients; kale, spinach, chia seeds, flax, carrots, mango and pineapple and coconut milk. What came out was a smooooth ice cream like, velvety & tasty nutrition. Not a hint of seeds or other chunks could be seen, felt, or tasted, in fact the smoothie was so well blended that this, my favorite smoothie for the past year tasted entirely different, new…, the flavors literally burst on my tongue and slapped my taste buds! I could actually taste everything at the same time, but could only feel the texture of silky smooth ice cream. So if you’ve had any questions about those infomercials that suggest you get a similar experience from those Nutri-Whatevers, don’t believe them, the end products are light years separated. Of course that’s not to knock the Nutri-Guys, they do a terrific job for the cost. But if you want, and have a couple kids lying around to bargain with, get yourself a Vitamix! Even considering the high cost of ownership, for me it’s the best value of anything I’ve ever bought. I love this thing.

Best purchase ever

Best purchase ever! Vitamix 780 is so powerful yet much quieter than my cheap blender. I no longer have to ‘chew’ my kale green smoothie. I also did the ‘black specks’ test, and there wasn’t any! The smooth panel looks good and works great. Before purchasing, I looked at all the Vitamix models and decided to splurge and get the 780. Love the preset programs. Expensive but so worth it. The package came with a tamper and a recipe book (not specified in the listing), so no need to purchase the tamper separately.

The convenience of this model is the digital display and programming. It has the exact same motor speed (2.2), blades, etc., as the dial operated models.

This machince is a Part of My families DAY TO DAY life. It is THE KEY tool in eating clean and living well. A blender that makes, HOT soup, Ice Cream, Juices, NUT Butters, and alot more. Is well worth the amount you pay. Buying one is like buying a Kirby Vaccume. Once you have one you have no need for other things related. We like it so much we bought 2 of them!

I wish I had bought this one first. We bought the nutri-bullet and were sorely disappointed. Besides being under powered for the jobs we needed it was a major chore to clean. The Vitamix is neither. It has all the power you need for pureeing just about anything. It is extremely durable and its automatic cleaning system works like a charm. We absolutely love it.

Smooth Smoothies

It arrived in excellent condition. I made my first smoothie and it had the consistency of Jamba Juice smoothies. If I want it creamier, I can run the process, again, but I like the consistency. I used large ice. Next time I will used crushed ice. That’s the only thing I will change for the next smoothie. For those who are not getting smooth smoothies, I recommend you make adjustments to your ingredients, such as don’t use ice from your ice tray ‘as is’. Crush the ice or used crush ice. You can add more water, almond juice, or orange juice, depending on the smoothie you’re making. Don’t add too much. Just add a quarter at a time. You can also run the program another cycle. Hope these tips help! 🙂

I love this touch screen model!

Years ago, I had an older model Vitamix with the 2 levers & speed dial. I sold that one because I found that having to try to remember when to flip the levers up or down and when to turn the speed dial combinations to be very cumbersome and frustrating. Maybe I gave up too soon, but whatever the case may have been, I replaced it with a Blendtec and I loved the push-button ease of use with it for the past 7 years. Press the smoothie button for smoothies, press the whole juice button for juicing, etc. As I was planning to embark on the Whole30 program, I wanted a blender that would accommodate larger quantities at a time for blending and thus I found this touch-screen Vitamix. I love, love, love this model. It works fantastic and I use it daily and sometimes several times a day. It has become one of my 4 kitchen appliances I cannot do without. The container will hold 64 oz and cleans itself easily. The motor is powerful and I haven’t had any problems blending anything I have tried thus far. It comes with a tamping tool that is very helpful at times. Don’t get me wrong, the Blendtec is a fabulous blender also, but the container only held 32 oz and the motor was not quite as powerful, but it did do the job though sometimes in multiple batches. I have passed my Blendtec on and it is still performing. While the Vitamix is costly, for me it was worth it and I would purchase it again in a heartbeat.

It is a dream machine.

This blender is amazing. It makes the smoothest, creamiest smoothies, bar none. And I feel I can say that after buying 2 other brands’ models that were allegedly at the top of their lines. As an added bonus, this machine also makes short work of soups and sauces (which I never knew I needed). I can’t help myself from wanting to try new recipes in this thing. I am no pro in the kitchen, but this blender makes me feel like I am. Sure, it is loud, but that’s because of the powerful motor inside which apparently really does make a difference. It doesn’t take as long as other brands to do the work, despite having several presets for common jobs.

Quality Purchase – Great Smoothies

It took me a while to convince myself I needed this given the cost, but I have absolutely no regrets. I have made smoothies every day since getting it and look forward to using experimenting with other recipes. I had some difficulty getting everything chopped up at first, like ice and frozen fruit, and had to shut the blender off and shake things up and turn it back on several times, but then figured out I needed more liquid then called for in the recipe. With the extra fluid I have no problems.

I love the soup feature

I love the soup feature. That was the number one reason I bought it…. I need it to make sweet sesame dessert soup and sweet walnut dessert soup. If you have made sesame soup the old fashion you will know it will take hours and you end up throwing away a lot of sesame pulp. With thos vitamix i throw in all ingredients, press soup button and eat when ready. The only problem with this was the noice. The motor is super noisy.
