While I can’t say that I’m completely happy with the fact that our blender does not have a compatible glass pitcher, we have had it for nine years and have only had to replace the pitcher once, so far. We purchased this replacement pitcher about a year and a half ago and have not had any issues, yet. During the summer months, which last from about mid-April to mid-October where we live, we make smoothies about 4x a week. We crush ice in every smoothie and fill it close to capacity. We always hand-wash the pitcher, which may help with its longevity (I’m thinking heat might weaken the plastic). When we have babies in the house, we also use it to puree our own baby food. This process usually involves hot, steamed food. It was after doing this for our second child that the old pitcher finally cracked. We’re expecting another baby, so we’ll see how it holds up under the stress of heat. But, so far, so good.

Not as the same pitcher that came with my blender

Even though they are original Kitchen Aid parts, they must have some sort of defect. The first one I ordered from a different seller had one of the blades too bent that it was scratching the bottom of the pitcher and also was leaking when blending just a smoothie and didn’t use any frozen fruits. The second one I ordered was better but still leaks (in a much less scale than the first one). Since the blender I have is almost 9 years old, the investment was good but probably could get a new Kitchen Aid blended for twice the price of this pitcher and you’ll know for sure you get a 100% guaranteed product.

Buy the Extended Warranty

Perfect blender again. This KitchenAid blender is a wonderful machine except that the blender jar wears out within a year and begins to leak. My solution? Buy the extended warranty! The result is that my 2009 blender is still making four icy smoothies daily for a very low cost.

Perfect replacement to the original pitcher that came with my blender. I over-used that one, and so glad to be able to buy a replacement pitcher. I tested a variety of other blenders, including Ninja, Magic Bullet, etc, before I decided that I love my Kitchen Aid over the others and it does the best job of blending my smoothies/protein shakes and is the most convenient to use and quick to clean when you’re on the go and running out the door in the morning.
